For over 100 years the Hertrich name has been synonymous with growth in the automotive industry. From our inception, the company philosophy has been simply to "Sell cars; Satisfy customers", with the emphasis always on the customer's needs.

From Frederick W. Hertrich's modest immigrant beginnings in 1903 as a Gear-maker, then Engineer for Buick, Hertrich's has grown into "One of the top 100 Dealer Groups in the United States" (Ward's Automotive). With eight dealerships in three states, fifteen franchises and over 500 employees the Hertrich Family of Dealerships is still exploring new possibilities. Both third and fourth generation family members are actively leading us into a bright future.

The first decade of this century heralds several expansion projects which exemplify the family's forward thinking: Open January 2007, a 23 acre state of the art dealership complex on busy Route 1, just north of Milford, Delaware offers customers dramatic and comfortable surroundings, unmatched selection, and unequalled service. It is the largest facility on the eastern shore.

Another brand new sales and service center was just constructed on seven acres in Dover, Delaware. This 41,000 square foot dealership replaced the original Capital Lincoln Mercury, Mazda, Isuzu Store at the same expanded location on Route 13.

We are also in the process of planning a new facility in Denton, Maryland, adjacent to the newly acquired Wayside Body Shop, the premier body shop on the Peninsula. This expanded, new construction will replace the existing Hertrich Chevy Dodge building and is slated to be construction during 2008.

  • 401k Savings Plan - Eligible employees can elect the amount to contribute. This enables each employee the ability to tailor a retirement package to meet their specific needs. Hertrich also contributes an additional 50% matching amount to each employee's 401(k) contribution (up to 6% of the salary). The enrollment period is January and July after completion of three (3) months of service. Funds are fully vested after 3 years.

  • Paid Holidays, Personal Time, & Vacation Time - Hertrich observes six (6) holidays, three (3) personal days, and a minimum one week vacation for eligible employees per year after completion of 90 days of employment.

  • Monday & Friday Incentive - Since Mondays and Fridays are our busiest days, employees who DO NOT take personal days on Mondays and Fridays will receive an extra personal day in the following year.

  • "$1000.00 Summer Incentive" - Any Flat Rate Service Technician, Service Manager, Service Writer, or Parts Manager who does not use a vacation or personal day between Memorial Day and Labor Day will receive a $1,000.00 bonus. emptyContent
